Because you have already developed a negotiation style through your own experiences, we cannot expect radical changes in that style. What we can expect is to formalize your experiences, and to take some time to think critically about what may now be an intuitive process for you. This will allow us to establish a framework that will help you increase your learning every time you are involved in a new negotiation.

How much progress you make in our session on negotiation will be up to you. Because negotiating is a skill, there is only one way to improve: practice. Practice of this skill, as with any other, must be accompanied by a critical analysis of your experiences and by a commitment to improve until new skills become part of your repertoire.

This module is designed for managers or specialist that want to develop techniques and tools needed in negotiation.

  • Preparation and planning of the negotiation;
  • Starting, leading and closing negotiation;
  • Negotiation techniques and strategies;
  • Negotiation styles;
  • Non-verbal language;
  • The negotiation table: exploitation of the unwritten rules;
  • Negotiating from an disadvantageous position;
  • Negotiating with difficult people;
  • Mediators in negotiation.

For every subject there will be 3 stages to be completed:

  1. Negotiation exercises. In every session participants will get the opportunity to negotiate with one or more colleagues.
  2. Analysis. After every negotiation results will be analyzed and main aspects will be discussed.
  3. Agenda. During the 3 weeks, participants will deeply analyze their own negotiation style. They will journal the strengths, but also the points where’s room for improvement, in order to develop their own complete negotiation style.
